Nichie & Chris Stonall

Serving with Open Arms of Hope

OUR MINISTRY

Nichie started serving in South Africa in 2011 and then made the official move as a full time missionary in 2015. She lived in Johannesburg, working alongside Impact Africa as their Impact Baby Rescue Director. During her time there she helped lead her team to advocate for the lives of precious babies and their brave mothers. What began as a team of three dedicated ladies, grew under Nichie’s leadership to a thriving staff of 25 women advocating and caring for babies who might otherwise have no hope of a future.

During her 8+ years with Impact Africa, Nichie opened and ran their first baby home, and subsequently oversaw the opening and running of three more homes. In 2017, Nichie met Chris, a local South African and they married in 2018. They have a daughter named Adelaide.

At the end of 2023 Nichie ended her season with Impact Africa as she and Chris made the move to Cape Town.  Currently Nichie works with Open Arms of Hope as their Family Support Services Provider. She uses her experience and training to support moms with the aim to build strong families and help prevent baby abandonment. Her role  includes facilitating child care and childbirth courses, offering birthing and postpartum support to moms and crisis pregnancy counseling.

She is responsible for working hand in hand with other nonprofits to reach as many moms as possible. This includes growing their social media presence to raise awareness about our services in hopes to reach more women in their area.

Open Arms of Hope aims to empower the community through various projects, by means of intervention, prevention and support. They provide Baby Savers in hotspot areas in the Northern Suburbs of Western Cape, to intervene in baby deaths, caused by unsafe abandonment.

Open Arms of Hope supports the mother at risk, providing Doula services with the Labor and Delivery Units, in the areas where the Baby Savers are located.
